Adamant System fully virtualize PPZ-MAIWP data centers

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – 21st September 2011: Adamant System Sdn. Bhd., specialist in infrastructure optimization and data center optimization, today announced that it has successfully virtualized the entire Pungutan Zakat, Majlis Agama Islam (PPZ-MAIWP) IT infrastructure.

The deployment brings forth several improvement, including:

  • Simplifying infrastructure management. Each virtual machine instances are preconfigured with web-based console that is accessible with just a web browser. Thus, activities such as accessing server console, rebooting, increasing RAM and disk allocation, as well as migrating virtual machines to other physical servers can be done with just a few mouse clicks.
  • Increased availability. All virtual machines are configured in high-availability configuration. If any of the physical servers goes down for whatever reason, virtual machine instances on the physical server will be automatically restarted on another physical server. On top of that, task such as replacing faulty hardware components can be conducted without any downtime to the end users at all.
  • Improved performance. To satisfy PPZ needs of performance, network interconnect is based on InfiniBand, offering up to 40 Gbit/s of data transfer speed.
  • Disaster recovery. Application data are automatically replicated to offsite data center. In case of total failure of the main PPZ data center, operations can resume from the offsite data center.

We try hard to understand PPZ needs, and carefully architect and delivers solution that fits PPZ. Similar solution from other big enterprise virtualization vendor will cost PPZ three to four times more”, said Amirah Azmi, Managing Director of Adamant System Sdn. Bhd. “We are confident moving forward in the future, PPZ will see a lot more value in the deployment, from reduced maintenance cost, lower electricity consumptions, increased availability, to name a few”.
